The BIOTOPIA Lab is open for visitors as long as the current corona situation allows it (regulation for museums and cultural institutions). To enter, you must pass through the main entrance of the Botanical Garden (Menzinger Str. 65), where you will need to fill out a contact tracking sheet. As of April, the entrance to the Botanical Garden will probably no longer be free of charge and will also only be possible via an additional pre-reservation the day before - please inquire in advance on the Botanical Garden's page, as we will unfortunately not be able to help you on site.

You can find the Lab on the right, around the corner of the Botanical Institute, across the greenhouses.

Please follow the signs!

Barrier-free access to the Lab via ramp or elevator inside the institute is possible. Guide dogs and assistance dogs are allowed.

If necessary, you can call on site as soon as you are there (089 / 178 61-411) or let us know in the ticket booth of the Botanical Garden.

REGISTRATION

Due to current regulations, a visit to the Lab is only possible with a necessary registration.

    • The BIOTOPIA Lab is only open when museums are open (depending on the current incidence number).
    • For the entrance to the BIOTOPIA Lab a pre-reservation is necessary - just show your reservation on your cell phone or bring a printout of it to the entrance.
    • You can reserve time slots of 60 minutes on the hour. For fairness reasons, we reserve the right to release reserved tickets 10 minutes after the booking time in case of no-show.
    • Reservation by phone or email is not possible.

To comply with the corona regulations, we are limiting the number of visitors in the BIOTOPIA Lab. Please wear an FFP2 mask when you come to the reserved appointment and understand that you may have to wait a little during peak hours despite reservation.

PRICES

Children and youth under the age of 18 have free admission. Adults pay regular admission to the Botanical Garden. Entry to the BIOTOPIA Lab itself is free for everyone.

Please inform yourself directly on the website of the Botanical Garden about the current opening times and prices.

We want you to have exciting experiences in the BIOTOPIA Lab and enjoy your stay. To ensure the safety of all visitors, we ask you to follow the following hygiene rules:

    • In the whole BIOTOPIA Lab you have to wear FFP2 mask.
    • Please bring your own mask.
    • Children under 6 years of age are exempt from the mask obligation.

    • A minimum distance of 1.5 meters must be kept even with a mask.

    • Currently the number of people allowed in the lab is limited. On the main page you can find out more about how to reserve a place or book a workshop.

    • We make sure that not too many people enter the Lab by making it mandatory for all visitors to reserve a slot in advance.

    • For events and workshops we have to take your personal data for contact tracking and keep it for 1 month according to the DSGVO. This is not necessary for regular visits to the lab.

    • We provide disinfectants and disinfection wipes, also for one-handed listeners and contact surfaces.

In case of non-compliance with the rules, we will remind you. Visitors who still do not follow the rules are asked to leave the lab.

Persons with acute symptoms of illness, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, shortness of breath, loss of sense of taste and smell, sore throat or earache, are prohibited from entering the BITOPIA Lab. The same applies to individuals who have had contact with COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days or are otherwise under quarantine regulations.
